世間の荒々しい風を防いでいた木が枯れてしまった今となっては、その木に守られていた小萩の身の上が気にかかって気が休まりません。』このようないささか失礼な歌ではあったが、帝はこれを御覧になっても、仕方あるまい、まだ心が悲しみに乱れているのであろうからね、と優しく大目にみて下さることであろう。

S先生：残された young Prince を小萩にたとえた部分の like a vulnerable small tree of Hagi which has lost its buffer という表現がなかなか面白いと思いました。buffer は化学の実験でPHの急な変化を和らげる緩衝剤のことで、理系のN君ならではのチョイスでしたね。文系の人には思いつかない発想です。全体的にまずまずと思います。
