長恨歌 その15： 緩歌慢舞凝糸竹 尽日君王看不足
緩歌慢舞糸竹を凝らし、尽日君王看れども足らず。
緩やかな歌や静かな舞い、管弦の合奏の妙を尽くし、皇帝は一日中素晴らしい舞楽に浸って飽きることがない。
N君：「飽きることがない = とても満足」と考えてもいいのかなあ。ちょっと違う気がする。日本語は難しい。英語をやる、というのは、日本語をやる、ということ。
Relishing the graceful songs and dances elegantly accompanied by the skillful orchestra, the Emperor was fulfilled by the performances all day long.
S先生：最近腕を上げたね。簡潔で良いです。今回に限らず、時制を現在形(歴史的現在といいます）にするのが良いのか、素直に過去形にするべきか、迷っています。
Songs and dances are being performed at a slow tempo, and the beauty of the music played by wind and string instruments is beyond expression. The Emperor is quite satisfied with the exquisite performances all day long.
N君：beyond expression は beyond discription と同じような意味ですね。時制というのはけっこうな悩み所なんですね。これまであまり気にしたことがありませんでした。
