長恨歌 その43： 楼閣玲瓏五雲起 其中綽約多仙子
楼閣玲瓏(れいろう)として五雲起こり、そのうち綽約(しゃくやく)として仙子多し。
仙山には高楼が玉のように美しく輝き五色の雲がたなびいて、そのなかにしなやかで美しい仙女が多数住んでいる。
N君：漢和辞典によると、綽(しゃく)は「たおやか、ゆるやか」の意で、現代語では「余裕綽々」があります。前回学んだ 述部+V+S の形を早速やってみました。Sが重いときにはおすすめの形ですね。
On the mountain stands a high building shining brightly like a jewel in five kinds of colored clouds. A number of graceful women inhabit it.
S先生：簡潔で良い文章を書けるようになりました。欲を言うと kinds of はなくてもよいのではないかと思います。live と違って inhabit が他動詞であることに注意しましょう。a number of と the number of との違いについても意識しておいて下さい。
On the hermit's mountain a lofty building glitters transparently like pearls, and five colored clouds hanging all around, there live many beautiful fairies.
N君：there live many beautiful fairies のところでまたまた転置を見ました。自動詞 live と他動詞 inhabit との違いも明らかですね。いろいろ分かってきたような気がしますが、たぶん気のせいでしょう。
