N君：小説家というのはうまいこと言いますね。「遠くから手招きしてゐるやうなあの川上の薄靄」という表現にグッときました。
Instead of giving little impact, this kind of an ordinary scene in Minase always gives you a friendly smile and tries to accept all travelers. While not moved in a short time, you will feel as if you were tenderly embraced by your merciful mother when you stay there for a long time. Especialy in a dreary twilight, you will come to feel like being drawn into the faint mist over the upper reaches of a river which looks as if to welcome you.

Seeing commonplace scenery of Minase, you will not be taken by surprise or deprived of your soul, but you will be greeted as a traveler with an aminable smile. A brief glimpse will give you no feelings. Standing still here for a long time, however, you will be touched by its gentle affection as if you were held in your dear mother's arms. Especially at a dreary dusk, you will be inclined to go into the thin mist far up the stream as if you were being kindly invited.
