It is good for you in your youth to be keen on translated novels or something. Though they may be interesting, those indifferent to foreign culture will be never able to play an active part in the new and global world.
S先生：第1文の you in your youth は you young people というふうに並列的に書くのもよいですね。第2文の play an active part in ～ は間違いではないですが、play と来たら part よりも role のほうがしっくり来ます。
I never mind young people being lost in reading translations of excellent foreign novels. I don't think those who are indifferent to foreign culture can play an active role in the future world.
