帚木46・47・48：(源氏)「いでや、上の品と思ふにだに、かたげなる世を」と君はおぼすべし。白き御衣(おんぞ)どものなよよかなるに、直衣(なほし)ばかりをしどけなく着なし給ひて、紐などもうち棄てて添ひ臥し給へる御ほかげ、いとめでたく、女にて見奉らまほし。この御ためには上が上を選(え)り出でても猶(なほ)あくまじく見え給ふ。
黙って聞きながら源氏は「なに上流の家でさえ良い女は求め難いものを、ましてや、、、」などと思っているらしい。源氏は白くふわりとした柔らかな下着に、普段着の直衣だけをゆるりと着こなして紐などは結んでいない。そういうしどけない姿でものに寄りかかっている姿が、暗い灯火の光にほんのりと浮かんで見える。その姿の美しいことは、男にしておくのはもったいない、いっそ女にして眺めてみたいと思うほどの美形である。

S先生：第1文の be likely to do は「～しそうだ」の意です。ここは「～のように見える」の意ですから seem to do を使うべきでしょう。この両者をはっきり区別してください。第4文末では「付帯状況の with」を上手に使うことができました。この調子でどんどん使っていきましょう。第5文と第6文の描写はなかなかのものです。特に第5文はそのまま英語の小説に出てきてもおかしくないくらいです。第6文はやや説明的すぎますが、to the extent that ～ の形を適切に使えているしまあ良いでしょう。第7文も when it comes to + 名詞 の形を使って書くことができました。最近腕を上げたかな？
