古文研究法91-1 古今集より：春の着る霞(かすみ)の衣緯(ぬき)を薄み 山風にこそ乱るべらなれ
春が着る衣は人とは違って霞製だが横糸が弱いので、山風のため吹き破られるようだ。
N君：緯(ぬき)は横糸で、経(みち)は縦糸。地球の緯線経線ですね。「物事の経緯(けいい)」などといいますが、珍しい苗字で「経緯(みちぬき)さん」という人がいました。「～を薄み」は「～が薄いので」でこれは重要です。第423回に登場した天智天皇の歌「秋の田のかりほの庵(いほ)の苫(とま)をあらみ」でも出た言い方です。「名詞＋を＋形容詞語幹＋み」 という公式になっています。「べらなり」は推量「べし」と同じで、平安時代のみに使われた特殊な形です。係り結びで已然形になっています。
A haze, the clothes spring puts on, is different from the ordinary wears we humans use. It is so weak especially in the weft that it would be easily injured by the wind blowing down from mountains.
S先生：「経緯(みちぬき)さん」には驚きました。今回の作文は無理なく自然な表現で上出来です。私もN君と同じように作文してみました。
