Genji composed a poem : "I feel at ease only while looking at the moon.  Since I am now relegated to Suma, Kyoto has become a remote place like the moon.  I cannot anticipate that I will see my old friends again in Kyoto."  Recalling that the way the incumbent His Majesty talked nostalgically about old things resembled the way the former Emperor had done, Genji recited another poem composed by Sugawara-no-Michizane.  He sang again and again, "The clothes I am honored to be given by His Malesty is here now."  Deeply moved by his own chant, he finally entered his room.

The clothes I am honored to be given by ~ は重いし文法的にも変です。 The clothes honorably given to me by ~ としてはいかがでしょうか。

Genji recited : "While watching the moon, how calm and relieved I feel !   Kyoto looks as far as if I were moved to the moon.  When shall I be able to see those good old friends of mine again ?"  Remembering that the old stories the Emperor had told was just the same as the former Emperor had (toldを省略), Lord Genji entered his room, reciting one of Michizane's poems : "I am wearing the clothes graciously awarded to me by the Emperor."
